Related Concerns to Anxiety and OCD for Women

Many women experiencing anxiety or OCD also face additional challenges. Therapy can address these patterns together, holistically.

Understanding Overlapping Concerns:

Many of the women I work with also experience:

  • Periods of low mood or depression

  • Stress related to life transitions and big life events

  • Past experiences (traumatic) that continue to impact how they feel and respond

These concerns can develop alongside anxiety patterns and can be effectively addressed within the same therapeutic framework.

Depression and Anxiety:

When Anxiety is persistent, it can begin to feel discouraging or exhausting. You may notice:

  • Low motivation or energy

  • Feeling stuck or overwhelmed, or hopeless

  • Difficulty enjoying things you used to enjoy

  • Increased self-doubt, low self-esteem, and negative thinking.

In many cases, these patterns are connected to long-term anxiety and overthinking, and we work on them together using structured, cognitive behavioral approaches.

Adjustment to Life changes and Anxiety:

Life transitions can intensify anxiety and worsen symptoms. Examples include:

  • Relationship changes

  • Career or role transitions

  • Major life adjustments and moves

  • Childbirth

  • Loss

  • Any period of instability or uncertainty

Therapy can help you navigate these transitions with more stability and clarity.

Trauma-Related Experiences and Anxiety

Past experiences can shape how your mind responds to stress. For some women, this can include:

  • Heightened anxiety or hyper-awareness

  • Difficulty feeling safe or settled

  • Patterns of overthinking and emotional reactivity.

When appropriate, I incorporate structured, evidence based approaches such as Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) to treat PTSD symptoms, or I provide referrals to other providers to address trauma related symptoms.

Therapy with me may be the right fit if:

  • Anxiety feels like the central issue, but other concerns are present

  • You want a structured, evidence based approach.

  • You’re dealing with multiple, overlapping challenges.

  • You are ready to work towards meaningful, lasting change

Logistics:

  • Therapy is private pay, $145 per session.

  • Superbills are available for out of network insurance reimbursement.

  • I provide sessions in person at my office in downtown Wadsworth Ohio, or on secure video call remotely across Ohio.
