Elizabeth “Libby” King, LISW

I work with children, teens, adults, couples, and families who are navigating emotional, behavioral, or relationship challenges.

Life can feel overwhelming at times, whether you’re dealing with anxiety or depression, supporting a child who is struggling, experiencing difficulties in a relationship, or adjusting to a major change in your life.

My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and supported while we work together toward meaningful, lasting change.

How I Work

I believe there is no “one-size-fits-all” approach to therapy. Each person and family comes to counseling with different experiences, strengths, challenges, and goals, so I tailor therapy to the individual needs of the people I work with.

My approach draws from evidence-based therapies including:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

  • Solution-Focused Therapy

  • Strengths-Based Therapy

  • Mindfulness-based interventions

Therapy with me is supportive and collaborative, while also focusing on practical tools and strategies you can use outside of sessions.

I want you to feel like you have someone in your corner as you work toward the changes that matter to you.

I work with clients experiencing concerns such as:

  • Anxiety and excessive worry

  • Depression and low mood

  • ADHD

  • Low self-esteem and confidence

  • Emotional regulation difficulties

  • Relationship and communication challenges

  • Family concerns

  • Stress related to major life transitions

I also enjoy working with couples and families who want to strengthen communication, work through conflict, and build healthier relationships.

Background and Experience

My passion for helping others began long before I became a social worker.

Growing up, I experienced several life transitions that introduced me to social workers and other supportive people at a young age. Those experiences gave me a firsthand understanding of how meaningful it can be to have someone in your corner during difficult seasons of life.

When I started college, I actually began as a math major. Although I enjoyed math, it didn’t take long for me to realize that my real passion was working with people. I changed my major to social work and haven’t looked back.

Since then, I’ve valued every part of the journey—from internships and clinical training to my work as a therapist. I’m grateful to have the opportunity to help people heal, grow, strengthen their relationships, and work toward their goals.

A Bit More About Me

Helping others has always come naturally to me. Even before I knew I wanted to become a social worker, I was the person who enjoyed lending a hand, helping someone who needed support, or simply being there to listen.

That same spirit shapes the way I approach therapy today.

I strive to be compassionate, approachable, and nonjudgmental. Whether I’m working with a child, teen, adult, couple, or family, I want therapy to feel like a place where you can be yourself while also gaining practical tools to help things get better.

Final Words

You don’t have to have everything figured out before coming to therapy.

Whether you’re seeking support for yourself, your child, your relationship, or your family, we can start with where things are right now and work together from there.

My goal is to help you better understand what’s happening, recognize the strengths you already have, and develop practical strategies that support meaningful and lasting change.
